ECOCHIC GENEVA SUSTAINABLE DESIGN EXHIBITION

ABOUT

The EcoChic Geneva Sustainable Design Exhibition contained a range of multidisciplinary designers who showcased their work and achievements in sustainable design that took place at the Palais des Nations, home of the United Nations Office in Geneva, from 21 January to 4 February 2010. Co-organised with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the exhibition was alongside the Redefining Sustainability in the International Agenda Seminar and EcoChic Geneva fashion show to celebrate the positive impact that fashion can have on biodiversity conservation during the United Nation’s International Year of Biodiversity.

The exhibition explored how many materials in the fashion industry, such as alpaca, hemp, bamboo, Chitral wool, soya, organic cotton, organic silk and African blackwood, can protect biodiversity and it showcased the prominent role that natural fibres have in sustainable development in developing countries.

We were delighted to screen PPR Group’s HOME movie alongside the exhibition.
